Tudor Crisps Adverts

I used to love these adverts, and have waited ages for someone to upload these to YouTube, there's the first one, where the lad does his paper round:
Tudor Crisps - young lad

And the one where he visits the paper shop, all grown up:
Tudor Crisps - grown up lad

And recently added (May13): Back to back adverts plus 2 additional ones with 'grown up Terry'

Classic TV adverts & great crisps. They don't make them like they used to.

The Littlest Hobo

There's a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road is where I'll always be

Every stop I make, I'll make a new friend
Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

As with all of these showbiz types, he probably got shafted by his agent, and now sits beside a big issue seller with a placard saying 'used to be the littlest hobo' - and everyone who walks past, points and thinks to themselves 'yeh right'.

I always thought the music was sung by Derek Griffiths (from Playschool, I know it wasn't cos the show was American)

Under the bramble bush is under the sea (bum-bum-bum)

I should warn you, it's only a 5 lined song but requires a bit of an intro in order to explain the actions - you need to be able to sing and clap at the same time (always difficult for boys to do).

This song should be sung with a partner who is clapping hands with yours:
Position 1: Face your partner
Position 2: left palm down, right palm up (clap together)
Position 3: right palm down, left palm up (clap together)
Position 4: palms push out (clap together)
Position 5: clap your hands together
Repeat 2-5 until you get a bum-bum-bum and you repeat Position 4 three times here and then continue.

So, the song goes like this:
Under the bramble bush is under the sea (bum-bum-bum)
True love to you my darling true love for me
I will get married
And raise a family
Under the old bramble tree (bum-bum-bum-bum)

Oh yes, At the lines 'I will get married & raise a family' you only do position 2 & 3. Sounds complicated but it's easy.
It was a playground classic, doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but who cares - I can still do it now, if you want to do it? but if you're crap it doesn't work.

Daddy's takin' us to the zoo tomorrow

Daddy's takin' us to the zoo tomorra
zoo tomorra
zoo tomorra
Daddy's takin' us to the zoo tomorra
We can stay all day

We're goin' to the zoo zoo zoo
How about you you you
You can come too too too
We're goin' to the zoo zoo zoo

The only rule about this song is, that you have to put your arm around the person sitting next to you, sing the song and sway from side to side.

Cat's got the measles

Cat's got the measles
Dog's got the flu
Baby's got the chicken pox and so have YOU

Reebok Easytone trainers

I've had these Reebok Easytone trainers since September 2009, initially I was going to buy some of those MTB shoes but I had a good look at them in Fenwick and John Lewis and decided that they were ugly looking, and ridiculously expensive so I bought the Reebok one's instead.

The Reebok one's aren't pretty either, but they're better looking than the MBT ones, and I can wear them for work.

They claim to tone your bum, hamstrings, calves and abdominal muscles - I've not worn them consistency until this week and I can tell you, my thighs and calves nack - I'm guessing that they're working. The additional ploughing through snow and slush is giving them an extra workout.

I think I might carry on wearing them and see how much I've toned up by the end of the month.

One of the many things that isn't as big as it was...snow

That's right, the white stuff.

When I was a kid we used to have snow, deep stuff, thick stuff. Not the mamby-pamby stuff we're getting now, proper snowman making, sledge-worthy snow.

And, when I was a kid they never ever closed our primary school.

We'd go to school in our wellies (or snowboots - if you were posh). Play out at breaktimes, build snowmen, have snowball fights on the school field and eat snow.

After breaktime we'd kick the snow off our wellies (or snowboots - if you were posh) put our welly-peg on our wellies and put our slippers on (or plimmies) and go back to lessons.

Snow in those days was better for snowman building and sledging, my dad would take us to a field on Lees Lanes/Ainderby Road and we'd sledge down the hill there (the hill with the stream at the bottom). We'd use our plastic sledges, heavy-duty plastic sacks (my dad got from work) and we had a bum-sledge thing that also worked a treat.

That was proper snow

When I needed a neighbour (from the come & praise hymnbook)

When I needed a neighbour
Were you there, were you there?
When I needed a neighbour
Were you there?

And the creed and the colour and the name don't matter
Were you there?

I was cold I was naked
Were you there, were you there?
I was cold I was naked
Were you there?

And the creed and the colour and the name don't matter
Were you there?

There were about 4 more verses of this, but I can't remember them just yet, when I do - I'll post them in here :)

Question #1

If you decant a bottle of dry white wine into a soda stream bottle & fill it with soda stream gas do you get champagne?
